The Bentley-designed Lagonda V12 was one of the few 1930s road cars capable of exceeding 100 mph in standard form, with a 4.5-litre engine delivering immense torque even in top gear. After Lagonda’s 1935 bankruptcy, Alan Good revived the brand and brought in W.O. Bentley, who developed what many consider his finest design. Launched in 1936 with deliveries starting in 1938, only 189 were built before WWII. The advanced chassis featured independent front suspension, and coachwork by Frank Feeley included elegant saloons and the high-performance Rapide roadster.
